Swayambhunath temple, or monkey temple, is a Buddhist temple soaring above Kathmandu. Arriving at the eastern stairway I was greeted by 365 stone steps and began the pilgrimage to the temple along with other tourists, locals, dogs, monkeys and many other walks of life. Monkey Temple is made up of a variety of shrines, temples and you guessed it thousands of holy monkeys…oh and a Tibetan monastery, as I found out when unicycling past a building and suddenly Tibetan Monks pouring out of it! What an awesome day! Just feeling top of the world... literally.
